ABOUT UAW 4100

UAW Local 4100 represents thousands of postdoctoral researchers in New York City.

WHO WE ARE

UAW Local 4100 is a union of postdoctoral researchers dedicated to advancing the rights, working conditions, and professional futures of academic workers in New York City. Our Local currently represents postdoctoral researchers at Columbia University (CPW), Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (SPOC), and Weill Cornell Medicine (WCMPU).

WHAT WE DO

As researchers, we drive innovation, mentor students, secure grants, and power the research enterprise. As union members, we organize collectively to ensure that our work is valued and that our workplaces are inclusive, transparent, and accountable. Through years of organizing and collective bargaining, we built a strong foundation for fair pay, comprehensive benefits, job security, and a more equitable academic workplace.

BY MEMBERS, FOR MEMBERS

UAW 4100 members run all aspects of our union, including organizing our colleagues, helping file grievances, serving as members of the bargaining team, and serving in elected leadership. We believe in a worker-led, democratic union run by members, for members.
